I was very upset that the Billboard awards were not broadcasted on DSTV, it’s 2011 for heaven’s sake’s and now we have to youtube all the performances just to stay in the loop. Anyways below are all my favourite pictures of the event which seemed to have been by far more entertaining than the Grammy’s. Beyonce performed her new singe Run the World (girls) and she looks HAUTE, I wonder if she did the pantsula dance on stage?! She also won the Millenium Award which was presented to her by her mother Tina Knowles and proceeded to thank her parents, Kelly & Michelle from Destiny’s Child plus the original members of Destiny’s Child Letoya Luckett and Latavia Robinson. She then also thanked her best friend whom she did not want to put on the spot because they probably had the camera on his face, which they did, then she said “I love me some Jay-Z”, how sweet is that? The smile on Jigga’s face said it all!
Justin Beiber also got his big night and raked in 3 awards including Top New Artist which I believe he also should have won at the Grammy’s because he was the most phenomenal breakthrough artist of 2010. Him & Selena Gomez looked so cute together and I love the gold coat he was wearing definitely befitting for the occasion.
Rihanna & Britney also performed Rihanna’s song S&M together, I have heard the radio version of it and it just sounds like Rihanna’s voice overpowers Britney’s voice but nonetheless they do make a sexy combination which should have made for a very seductive performance. I love Britney and am happy that she’s making a proper comeback in the music industry. Rihanna went on to win Top Female Artist as well as Radio Artist of the Year.
My favorite outfit of the evening is Keri Hilson’s banana yellow dress with the turquoise belt.
