The gorgeous Kerry Washington is on the cover of Elle Magazine in the US. Most black women struggle to be on the covers of the high-end glossies and for someone like Kerry it is long overdue. Her hit show The Fixer is back on our screens next Monday on M-Net at 20:30, cannot wait! Here’s what she had to say:

On her success:
“I’m the luckiest broad in Hollywood now. To be the lead actor on Scandal and to be in the highest-earning Tarantino movie I don’t get to ask for more.”

On a career she thought she’d have:
“I imagined I’d be a clinical psychologist, with a focus on how performance shapes identity. I’d figure out ways to use role-playing in the healing of people.”

On getting ready for the red carpet:
“I found out I enjoy the process. All these people show up at my house, they all have kits, someone has dresses. And it’s like, let’s have fun. It’s not all about me. We’re able to create stories on the red carpet.”

another bump for jess

Jessica Simpson and her baby bump are on the cover of US Elle Magazine and in it she reveals the sex of her baby and it’s a girl! Jessica recently gave birth to baby Maxwell and was surprised at being pregnant so soon again.

Here’s what she had to say about having a girl and the day she found out she was preggers:

“Ah swear, ah will croak if she asks me for a pair of Nikes instead of  Christian Louboutins! Eric is so athletic. We’re gonna have this ath-a-letic  girl and I won’t even be able to take her shopping.”

“We were goin’ to have an all-day drinking binge. Gonna ride our bikes, hang  out…do naughty things. But I started feeling this overwhelming guilt. Why  would I feel guilt at the idea of going out and having cocktails with my  friends?”

“I’m still standin’. I grew up very strong! You know, my father used to be an  adolescent therapist. I remember sitting at his office, watching the girls  walkin’ in and out. Kids doin’ coke at 16…heroin. Pregnant at 14. I could see  what I didn’t want to be.”

losing you

Solange Knowles released an EP (Extended Play, larger than a single shorter than a full album) in November and has released the first single titled Losing You. She shot the music video for the song in Cape Town when she was here last year to shoot the cover for Elle Magazine. I love the video, it’s so retro and Solange’s sound is definitely miles apart from her sister Beyonce’s sound. I think she is finally finding her voice. I love the song and have been playing it over and over in my car. Enjoy!

Kim Kardashian did a fashion spread for the March 2013 issue of Elle Magazine. She was styled by Nicola Formichetti & the photographer was Miguel Reverigeo. Below is also a video of Kim giving her friend Brittany Gastineau a sneak peek into her closet. She apparently has two closets one for her handbags and shoes and one for her clothes. She also talks about finding her style & having fun with it and the $90 00o sneaker in her closet.

Your girl B, more fromally known as Bonang Matheba is on the cover of the October issues of Elle Magazine clad in Louis Vuitton from head to toe. Bonang had the opportunity to go to New York City with the editor of Elle Magazine to experience Yoyoi Kusama collaboration with Louis Vuitton and fashion week. The magazine features pictures of Bonang’s experience, her cover shoot and an interview with the Queen B. Bonang has been featured on may magazine covers in the last two years but Elle still managed to interview her in such a way that we were able to learn something new about her. She’s open about making the mistake of trusting people with details of her personal life, regretting sometimes being too open with the media and fearing that she might fail. Don’t get it twisted though, she is still dreaming big and the sky is the limit for this stylish and talented girl!

Kristen Stewart recently did a cover shoot for Elle Magazine and I loved the male alter ego concept because I always see her as this frail and vulnerable actress who is overwhelmed by fame and she seems to be quite the opposite. She talks about her love for acting, her childhood memories and the ring on her index finger rumoured to be from Robert Pattison.
